The 3M 316 IR model is a Scotchlok connector with automatic stripping of conductors. It is used to electrically connect two or three solid or stranded conductors in the 22AWG to 16AWG range with a maximum insulation diameter of 4064mm. It also insulates the connection and provides a seal to protect against moisture. It is recommended for the installation and repair of irrigation and landscape lighting systems, as well as for the electrical connection of wires under 30 volts. Wires connected by this connector can be buried directly in the ground.
